Not long ago, @mistygirlph wrote an article entitled, “Do You Freak Out When Your Internet Goes Down?” It always makes me giggle when I see that one circulating on Twitter because people almost always add a little comment with their tweet that says, “Yes!” I know for me, I definitely freak out when my Internet goes down.

How about when our Internet is slow? Does that upset us too? Intel recently asked Harris Interactive to conduct the proper tests and gather the research to answer that question.

The results of the study showed that:

80% of Americans get frustrated when waiting for their computers to complete a command.

51% of Americans admit to doing something unusual (i.e. hitting the table with their fist, screaming, yada yada) because their patience runs out when they have to wait a long time because their Internet is slow.

Of that 51% of Americans above…

62% said they yelled and/or cursed
29% said they beat the mouse
24% said they hit the computer screen or keyboard

And, we aren’t secretive with this behavior either!

70% said they’ve seen this behavior with strangers
46% said they’ve seen this behavior with family members or friends
33% said they’ve seen this behavior from a colleague.

The report goes on to say that this is not just a reflection of how we deal with our impatience. It’s much more than that. Much of what we do on the Internet is time sensitive. Many people blame their computer’s slowness for losing eBay auctions and other opportunities that require a faster computer than many people have.

Our society now lives in an instant gratification mindset.  Even reading boring text emails is a chore at times – but, we can now use a “tool” that adds video to your email… yes, add video to your emails.

Facebook is building a mobile phone, says a source who has knowledge of the project. Or rather, they’re building the software for the phone and working with a third party to actually build the hardware. Which is exactly what Apple and everyone else does, too.

It was a little less than a year ago that we broke the news that Google was working on a phone of its own – which was eventually revealed as the Nexus One. It was about that time, says out source, that Facebook first became concerned about the increasing power of the iPhone and Android platforms. And that awesome Facebook apps for those phones may not be enough to counter a long term competitive threat.

Specifically, Facebook wants to integrate deeply into the contacts list and other core functions of the phone. It can only do that if it controls the operating system.

Two high level Facebook employees – Joe Hewitt and Matthew Papakipos – are said to be secretly working on the project, which is unknown even to most Facebook staff.

Both have deep operating system experience.

Hewitt helped create the Firefox browser and was working on Parakey before it was acquired by Facebook in 2007. Parakey, which never launched, was described as a “Web-based operating system.” Hewitt also created all of Facebook’s iPhone web apps and then native apps, but finally quit building for the iPhone in disgust late last year. But he knows operating systems and he knows mobile.

Papakipos also has a perfect background for this project. He was leading the Google Chrome OS project until June. He then quit and went to Facebook. Papakipos is considered a rockstar developer, and there are any number of jobs he’d be able to do at Facebook.

But that doesn’t answer the question of why he’d leave the Chrome OS project before it was finished. It would have taken something really interesting to lure him away. Something like a Facebook Phone, for example.

So what might this phone look and feel like? We don’t know yet. When will it be announced? Don’t know. But I’d speculate that it would be a lower end phone, something very affordable, that lets people fully integrate into their Facebook world. You call your friend’s name, not some ancient seven digit code, for example. I’d imagine Facebook wanting these things to get into as many hands as possible, so I’d expect a model at a less than $50 price. Pay your bill with Facebook Credits. Etc.

As for timing, the holiday season is always a good time to launch new products. But that may be too soon.

Or who knows, the whole project might get killed before it sees light. All we know for sure is that Hewitt and Papakipos are working on something very stealthy together. And we have a source that tells us that stealthy thing is a Facebook phone.

We’re also not discounting possible partnerships around this. Spotify was said to be working on a phone with INQ last year based on a shared investor, Li Ka-Shing. It turns out Li Ka-Shing is also a sizeable investor in Facebook. So an INQ/Facebook partnership on a phone certainly wouldn’t be a surprise.

Dr Benny Morris recently did a Tampa seminar called “The Wealth Builder Mindset”.  I have heard Dr Benny speak online and know a lot of people that highly recommended his seminars so I decided to attend.  I made the 14 hour drive down from the DC area… this is a review of his seminar.

Let me tell you, I have been to a LOT of seminars and trainings and his was one of the best. It ran from 9am to 5pm which, is a really long time for me to sit still but, I didn’t sit still!  He had us doing so many energizing movements, stretches and exercises - at the end everyone broke a board! Yeah…way different than most seminars!

Dr Benny Morris is one of, if not THE best story-tellers I have ever witnessed. He really drove the points home with stories and analogies. He breaks down our barriers in so many different and powerful ways, let me share a few:

The 3 Problems with Beliefs
1. We don’t consciously decide what we believe
2. Once adopted, we forget the interpretation
3. Those beliefs are often based on mis-interpretations

Benny drove home the point that most people don’t have the energy to get out of their own way. I see this every single day with people that have leaned on so many varying excuses to keep them from success. “I don’t understand”, “I don’t have time”, “I don’t have confidence” are just some of the examples. He said something that really struck home, “Your purpose is seeking you as much as you are seeking your purpose…” Wow…

Can You Achieve the Wealth Mindset Without Focus?

Of course you have trouble with focus, you weren’t born with it. We are born with only two things… fear of falling & loud noises.  Those act as a protection mechanism for our survival.  It is an incredible waste of time to talk about your lack of focus.  The time spent whining about it could be focused time! If you want to become successful, you have to get focused and take the actions needed to do it. Dr Benny Morris is actually the first individual to purchase a Tony Robbins franchise. He worked with Tony for many years. He said if you are having problems with focus, here’s a great quote from Tony…”If You Can’t, You Must”…

What About My Limiting Beliefs?

One of the exercises that we did was board breaking. Benny had us write our limiting beliefs on one side that we “broke-through” and on the other side we wrote our intention statement. So, what was mine?  Well, mine (pictured left) was I can’t have perfect balance and harmony.  All through my life, at least in the past, I have always had some areas of my life that were great while others were terrible. 

After attending the seminar I am going to continue taking the actions to ensure I gain the balance I am looking for.   This was a great experience for me if  Dr Benny comes to YOUR area, you will do yourself good to get your there!

I must admit, this has to be the most important blog post that I have written to this day. Gold and Silver are at all time high’s right now— BUT WHY?

Well, in case you haven’t been watching the news… the country Greece just went through some serious financial problems. Their financial system is failing and this has forced other countries to BAIL them out. How many times have you seen the word BAIL OUT recently?

How can we as a Country continue to print money and bail others out? Well right now, gold and silver is the world’s reserve currency and those who have it NOW will win in the long run.

Currently, China is the largest holder of America’s debt and they are getting pretty sick and tired of America printing money and bailing out everyone. So what are they doing about it you say? Well, 1st off, there are not buying as much debt from us… Secondly, they are not buying as many euro’s either due to it going down the drian in terms of value as well.  They’re buying real money— GOLD AND SILVER!!

So what has been the trend since China started to buy massive amounts of gold and silver? You guessed it… the price started to go sky high! As I write this blog post, gold is at $1226.00 per ounce and silver is at $19.00 per ounce!! Now, my last statement brings me to the purpose of this blog post.

So chances are you’ve probably heard of “The Secret” but, have you heard of “The Law of Importance?”

My guess is probably not…

Well the “Law of Importance” was something developed by Woody Woodward.  Woody was a high school drop out at the age of 16 who went on to become a millionaire at the age of 26… after studying countless stories of people who have overcome amazing challenges and serious adversity yet still have managed to come out on top.

The “Law of Importance”, also known as your emotional fingerprint, basically states that all human behavior is governed by what makes one feel important – and it consists of 5 main principles.

Before I get into those principles…

I want to share with you what caused “Ninja Grandma”, Mary Louise Zeller (6th degree Black Belt and a Master Instructor in Olympic Sport Taekwondo) to develop her emotional fingerprint.

This was a clip from the movie “I-ology”, which is a documentary based on the law of importance. So, here are the 5 principles before I get off on a tangent:

1. – If  two or more I’s are being met simultaneously, you will have a positive peak in attitude, more so than just a normal day.

Go back and think of time when you just feel like you are on top of the world.  Chances are 2 of your I’s are being met. Your I’s are simply the 5 things that make you feel important.

2. – If two or more I’s are being offended simultaneously, you will have a negative drop in attitude, more so than just a normal day.

Now think of a time when you’ve felt like you just could not get a break – everything just seems to be going wrong. Well it’s safe to say that 2 of your I’s are not being validated or they are being offended.

3. – Subconsciously or consciously you will do anything within your belief system to defend or support your I’s.

Probably the most important of the principles… this is what causes people to overcome insurmountable odds because they have a desire of importance that needs to be met.

4. – I’s are created by mind shifts.  Mind shifts are created by drama or trauma.

Throughout your life, the things that make you feel important will change based on dramatic experiences (positive) and traumatic experiences (negative).

5. – You cannot take away an I without replacing it with another I.

If one or more of the things that makes you feel important is dependent on someone else validating it… it’s possible that a one point or another it might have to be replaced – Especially if that person, for whatever reason is no longer in your life.

So here’s why you should care…

… Because you can take over the WORLD! Well, sort of… You’ve heard the quote by Zig Ziglar, “If you help enough people get what they want, you will get what you want” right?

So, if you know that people have a strong desire to have their “I’s” met… How much more influence do you think you could have, if you could help MORE people fulfill their urge to feel important?
